Description
This notice serves as a published publicly accessible Contract Award Notice in compliance with the Procurement Act 2023, marking the start of the mandatory eight-day standstill period, which will end on the 17th April 2026. Assessment summaries were sent to bidding suppliers on the 01 April 2026. Due to registration issues with the Central Digital Platform (Find a Tender Service), this notice is being posted on Contracts Finder rather than the Central Digital Platform in accordance with Regulation 5 of the Procurement Regulations 2024. This procurement exercise establishes a Open Services Framework. FASTER will be a Framework of suppliers up to the value of £57,000,000 including VAT. It will be an Open Framework. The plan will be to open up the Framework to any new entrants within the first 3 years of the Framework duration and is planned to be in place for up to 8 years (maximum). The FASTER will be the principal mechanism by which the Met Office seeks to secure skills and capacity from UK Industrial and Academic Institutions in support of the delivery of Met Office requirements relating to the application of weather and climate science. FASTER aims to cover the use of scientific techniques and knowledge alongside technology solutions to explore and understand real world questions and challenges experienced by customers and end users of our weather and climate information and subsequently develop mitigation approaches and prototype solutions.
