Description

Derbyshire County Council is seeking bids for the provision of a paid Infant and Toddler Nutrition Peer Support Service to operate throughout the geographical area of Derbyshire excluding Derby City. This service shall offer peer support to women who are establishing breastfeeding, offer a service to educate and promote the introduction of healthy complementary foods and provide support regarding nutrition for families with children under the age of three. The aim of the proposed programme is to reduce inequalities in health and improve the short term and long term health and well-being of families, by developing and delivering a sustainable and flexible peer support service in order to support breastfeeding initiation and sustainment, support the development of healthy eating habits from infancy through to toddlerhood and reduce childhood overweight and obesity. The Service shall comprise of Paid Peer Support Workers and Volunteers.
