Description
Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC) is looking to engage with suppliers who are able to supply a home charging solution that complies with the ISO 1158 standard for Plug & Charge capability (automatic authentication without RFID/app). It is WCBC ‘s intention to run a small trial ( crica 5) of home chargers and vehicles to better understand the practicalities and processes involved when charging Council vehicles from a home / personal address. This trial will inform the long-term plan / aspirations for the wider fleet across the Council. The Council is looking for a solution whereby the charger is able to distinguish between vehicles, i.e. a Council and personal vehicle, with little to no input required from the operator/driver. It is also the Councils preference that the chargers are the responsibility of the homeowner or supplier of the charger. Please note that WCBC is not looking for any kerb-based solution or public charging points as part of this procurement exercise. If any supplier is capable and interested in suppling a home charging solution that complies with this requirement, please email procurement@wrexham.gov.uk.
