Cathodic Protection External Cathodic Protection. To protect the ship against local galvanic corrosion, an impressed current system shall be installed. In case of failure, it shall be possible to repair the system without dry docking. Anodes shall be placed on and around the azimuth thrusters, side thrusters and in the sea chests as per the equipment supplier's recommendations. Vessel Anode-plan shall be worked out and supplied to the Buyer in drawing form. All sacrificial anodes shall be suitable for 5 years' protection in line with the coating protection. Internal Cathodic Protection Anti-fouling system shall be installed in the sea chests depending on supplier and Buyer's approval. See section 0745.
