Description
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) intends to award a direct contract to The Wandsworth Group Ltd for the provision of IPiN Evolution Nurse Call System upgrades. This will include the supply, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning of systems across multiple sites. The sites covered under this contract are Prince Charles Hospital, Royal Glamorgan Hospital and Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda. This direct award is being made under Procurement Act 2023, Schedule 5, section 7(2), as a change in supplier would result in incompatibility and disproportionate technical difficulties in operation and maintenance. The existing nurse call infrastructure is manufactured by The Wandsworth Group Ltd, and upgrading to IPiN Evolution systems ensures technical compatibility with current wiring, back boxes, and operational protocols. This approach avoids significant disruption, also Wandsworth Group Ltd is the original equipment manufacturer and sole provider of IPiN Evolution systems, ensuring compliance with HTM08-03 standards and continuity of service. Finally, the upgrade is urgent to maintain safe and reliable nurse call functionality across clinical areas, which is critical for patient safety and operational efficiency.
