Description
The Authority requires robust, agile and repeatable analysis of future air pollutant emissions and concentrations to underpin Air Quality policy development. Currently we have a range of tools and datasets that were built for a range of different purposes. Enabling them to work together is often a time consuming and laborious task that requires expert interpretation and manipulation leading to inefficiencies. Therefore, the authority seeks a tool that will make best use of current data sources, such as the NAEI, and enable the user to interact with the datasets in the following ways: altering activity levels and emission factors to produce new scenarios at a range of scales from site level to national; setting parameters for estimation of variability and uncertainty; and choosing the geographic scale of emissions outputs ranging from national down to local and the spatial scale (1km2 grid squares at a minimum but preferably to finer geographic scale).
