Description
The purpose of the Termination of Pregnancy (TOPS) service is to provide termination of pregnancy for women which is safe, timely and sensitive to the needs of women, taking into account their personal health and circumstances. The service will aim to reduce repeat abortions and unintended pregnancies and promote better sexual health among service users. The TOP service will provide: - An open access service to all members of the community irrespective of age, disability, ethnicity, faith, gender, sexuality, marital status or civil partnership, previous terminations, status of residence or language spoken (speakers of other languages) - Termination of unintended pregnancy - The full range of contraception - Contraceptive and sexual health counselling - A quality service informed by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist's Guideline for the "Care of Women Requesting Induced Abortion" (the RCOG Guideline), the MEDFASH standards and current best evidence
