Cheshire West and Chester Council is looking to appoint a company who can demonstrate appropriate experience, knowledge, ability and value for money to carry out arboriculture work upon trees within the Council's jurisdiction or responsibility. The contract will primarily undertake works on trees located on adopted highways which includes carriageways, footways and verges, public open space, country parks, council properties and other locations as identified by the Council's Authorised Officer. Cheshire West and Chester Council owns over 500 hectares (ha) of woodland and approximately 300,000 individual trees. Using the Green Infrastructure Valuation Toolkit, the economic value of the woodland and trees owned by the council is over £7bn. - a significant asset for the borough. Management of the Council's tree stock is therefore of paramount importance to ensure the borough is able to THRIVE both environmentally and economically; and to ensure the safety of the residents and visitors of the borough.
