Description
‘Visit Swansea Bay’ is the brand name given to the destination marketing activity of the Tourism Team in Swansea Council (City & County of Swansea). We are the official visitor information providers for Swansea Bay (Swansea, Mumbles, Gower Peninsula and Rural Swansea). We provide information via visitswanseabay.com and also manage campaigns to attract visitors to the area. We are an income generating team offering marketing packages, which local tourism businesses can buy into. There are two key strands to this year’s campaign as outlined below. The 2026/27 campaign will continue to promote Swansea Bay as a visitor’s ‘Happy Place’ and also linking in with Visit Wales’ ‘Hwyl’ Campaign. This campaign will continue to exclusively feature VSB Partners, which can all be found on our website. Visit Swansea Bay’s Campaign videos can be viewed here. A new Cultural Tourism Campaign which initially launched in 2024 aims to promote the area as a vibrant destination for cultural experiences and live entertainment. As Swansea will be host to the British Art Show 10 (BAS10) in February 2027, culture remains a key strand the campaign and securing cultural related coverage/visits should continue to be a prominent component of this contract. • This includes, but is not limited to, live music, art, theatre and comedy. • This is a prime driver for this contract as we want to engage with a variety of media platforms and influencers with an interest in arts, music events and culture. Bidders are expected to review previous and current campaign activity on visitswanseabay.com and our accompanying social media platforms (@visitswanseabay) before making their submission. The client will expect the successful bidder to set and achieve quarterly targets as the contract progresses to ensure an equal spread of coverage across the contract period. This will be in line with the invoice schedule. Please note that there is a maximum budget of £30,000 available for this contract. Additional hosting fees for visits (meals, accommodation etc) are not included in this price – the Client will cover these costs separately.
