Description
An interim contract for 6 months only, is being awarded directly to the incumbent provider of Community Direct Access Diagnostic Services to ensure continuation of essential service provision to enable NHS Hammersmith and Fulham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to complete its review of how future diagnostic services can best support new integrated pathways of healthcare services across the wider footprint of North West London with neighbouring CCGs. This review is expected to result in a new collaborative strategy being implemented from April 2019. The review includes assessment of current and future demand and will inform the commissioning intentions for NW London CCGs and the capacity requirements for diagnostic services from 2019 - including whether there will be a need for additionality to be procured from the market. NHS Hammersmith and Fulham CCG has assessed that the award of this interim contract to the incumbent as most capable provider at this time, offering the least risk to the continuity of essential services to local patients and being a proportionate strategy to enable the CCG to complete its review to inform the new integrated strategy for 2019 and beyond.
