Description
AMAP (Automotive and manufacturing advanced practice) form a key part of the Faculty of Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Sunderland. The University actively seeks to work with industry and that creates an exciting dynamic. Our vision for AMAP is to inform, inspire and innovate in Advanced Manufacturing, which we will achieve by being an innovative, accessible, and outward facing provider of support for industry. This will be based upon the application of research and knowledge of Advanced Manufacturing regionally, nationally and internationally - adding unique value and excellence to differentiate and enhance the student experience, the Faculty of Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing and the University. The University of Sunderland has the research capability supported by AMAP, and AMAP also have their network of industrial contacts. AMAP is trusted and respected by suppliers because of its neutral position. Our practice understands industry and we appreciate the challenge of the competitiveness within the supply chain. We are here to support businesses, large and small, by sharing contacts and best practice, providing training and up skilling of the workforce, plus carrying out research and then sharing the findings. Recognised regionally, nationally and internationally, adding unique value and excellence to differentiate and enhance the student experience, AMAP seeks to be innovative, accessible and an outward facing provider of support for industry. Based upon the application of research and knowledge of advanced manufacturing. Summer 2017 will see a significant investment from University of Sunderland into Advanced Manufacturing. Work will be conducted at two key sites (St Peters Campus - David Goldman Building and The Industry Centre) and your attention is drawn to Appendix D - Floor Plans - which confirms the current floor layouts of these areas and associated equipment requirements. As such, the University of Sunderland seeks to appoint an innovative supplier/service provider who can provide a comprehensive and compliant response to the requirements outlined within this ITT for Advanced Manufacturing Equipment defined as a Manual CNC Lathe and associated equipment.
