Description
Working with colleagues in Public Health, the Sheffield City Partnership is seeking to develop a deep-dive community research project, focused on cohorts of people who are economically 'excluded' within particular communities. The aim of the project is to help us to find a targeted and manageable way to explore how anchor institutions (including health anchors) can support a more inclusive economy in local communities through workforce, skills development, investment, policies, procurement and more. In this way, we will be seeking to illuminate the institutions' economic relationship with the community in question. We can then use this learning experience to look more broadly at our approaches city-wide and inform the development of robust and evidence-based recommendations for our local Framework for an Inclusive and Sustainable Economy, which we plan to launch in October 2018.
