Ocean Country Partnership Programme: Sri Lanka Sri Lanka Marine Protected Area Website Scoping

JNCC is a delivery partner for the Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP), a UK government-led programme under the Blue Planet Programme. More information on the OCPP can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/blue-planet-fund/ocean-country-partnership-programme-ocpp. This contract aims to scope the information required to develop an MPA specific website for Sri Lanka. The MPA specific website will: • Be a central location for information on all types of MPAs and other conservation measures in Sri Lanka. This will include Marine Sanctuaries, Nature Reserves and National Parks designated by the Department of Wildlife Conservation, Special Management Areas designated by the Coast Conservation and Coastal Resource Management Department, and Fisheries Management Areas designated by the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. Other conservation measures may also include international designations such as Ramsar sites. • Example information to be included for each MPA o Location (including GPS points of site boundary and if feasible geospatial visualisation of site boundary), size of protected area, information on protected habitats and species o Information on legislation used to designate the protected area and any management in place including management plans, management measures (for example for fisheries or tourism), guidelines, processes and best practice. o Research on the habitats and species within the MPA o Links to other useful information For more information on this this project and how to apply, potential bidders are invited to download the zip folder under the more information section of this advert and complete the conflict of interest form and the acceptance form of our terms and conditions attached to the invitation to tender letter (ITT).
