Description
Lewisham Council and Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking to procure a provider to deliver a Service contract managing the responsibility of an Infant Feeding Peer Support Service for families in Lewisham and Greenwich.\r \r The Infant Feeding Peer Support Service is a preventative and early intervention service which will deliver a local, easily accessible Infant Feeding Peer Support Programme (based on NICE guidelines) that will establish a network of trained, paid peer supporters to expand and improve the infant feeding support across Lewisham and Greenwich, working with midwifery and health visiting services to create a flexible, system-wide pathway of support from conception onwards.\r \r The Infant Feeding Peer Support Service will provide all parents and carers with social, emotional and practical infant feeding support, whilst connecting them with other local parents, both antenatally and in the postnatal period. Peer Supporters will recognise feeding and other family issues or challenges and signpost to sources of professional or other support when required. This joint working with maternity and health visiting will support mothers to meet their feeding goals and help with the transition to parenthood. \r This procurement process will follow the below threshold light touch regime.
