This project is intended to deliver three individual building investigations in support of the Bishop Auckland Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) programme: namely the former Co-operative store (latterly Beales) on Newgate Street; the Mechanics' Institute on Victoria Street, and the conjoined properties 65 Fore Bondgate and 6-7 North Bondgate (latterly trading as Bar Mondo). All three properties lie within the 'Town Centre' character area as defined by the 2014 Conservation Area Appraisal (Durham County Council 2014).
