Description
This requirement was for 2 offshore sailing yachts to be provided to JSATW(C) for Adventure Training. The current sailing crafts used are outdated and no longer fit the safety criteria of a Category A boat. Whilst the boats have been bought by the ATG(A) in Upavon, they are to be delivered directly to JSATW in Cyrpus. A summary of the requirement is - 1. Provision of two Sail Training Craft (STC) to deliver Adventurous Training: a. STC must be between 10m - 15m with an ability to carry 8 personnel. b. STC is required to cruise the coast of the Republic of Cyprus and further afield by day and night fulfilling the requirements of RYA courses dictated by publication G15. c. STC will operate in the Central, Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean Sea. STC must conform to AGAI 18, volume 1, Chapter 18, Annex F and AGAI 18, Volume 1, Chapter 11. STC coded to Category 1 conform to MGN 280. The Competition was an informal competition ran in November, where 4 suppliers were requested to quote. The supplier chosen was Dehler Yachts. They were chosen as they had the ability to meet the deadline, they could meet the safety requirements and the technical requirements detailed by the Designated Officer.
