Description
The Situational Awareness Command and Control Team (SACC DT) must maintain the Frequency Clearance Agreement (FCA) Safety Management System with the Civilian Aviation Authority (CAA) to allow continued use of Link 16 on a tolerable interference basis, JDLMO being the UK MOD principal stakeholder of this document. As part of the MOU with the CAA there is need to ensure that TDL Link 16 transmissions DO NOT interfere with UK NAV AID beacons. The CAA maintains dedicated, prioritised resource to address these requests on behalf of UK MOD. In addition, there is a general evolution of the radio frequency environment, which include potential changes to the operation of the Link 16 system, introduction of new DME equipment and introduction of a new global L-band aviation data communication system all of which will require extensive studies and tests to ensure that continued coexistence of Link 16 equipment and aeronautical CNS systems is not compromised.
