Description
The House of Commons and the House of Lords require binding and conservation services. Due to the nature of the hard copy material held by both Houses of Parliament the requirements are varied. These will include: cover binding and rebinding of books in full buckram (both split board and cased style); binding and rebinding in leather; conservation work, which may need specialist treatment of material or breaking down of material and making a facsimile copy of these items; printing to archival standard of some parliamentary publications required for long-term access. In addition, there is a regular requirement for the binding of House of Commons and House of Lords Parliamentary Debates and two sets of Sessional Papers, of both Houses, comprising Bills, House Papers and Command Papers, produced during a session (parliamentary year). Binding of printed acts on Vellum is out of scope for this framework.
