Description

The Royal Borough of Greenwich will be hosting a formal Homecare Market Engagement Event via Microsoft Teams on 22 June 2026 at 1:00 pm. The local authority intends to recommission Homecare services within Greenwich, with a target contract commencement in late 2027. This online event has been designed to provide an open and constructive forum for Local Authority Commissioners and Homecare providers to come together to discuss the current challenges facing the Homecare sector, explore the future direction of services, and consider how providers may need to adapt as the Homecare landscape continues to evolve. Following early co-production and co-design work with residents, social care teams, and other stakeholders, the local authority is able to share early indications of what future Homecare models could look like. Future Homecare models are expected to focus on: • Integrated neighbourhood health and social care models • Alignment of health and social care activity, including delegated healthcare tasks • Digital health and care technologies • True outcome-focused care, including discharge pathways and strengths-based approaches Commissioners are keen to engage with providers on the pressures and opportunities within the Homecare sector, including rising demand, workforce challenges, increasing complexity of need, and the growing emphasis on prevention, independence, and community-based support. The event will support partnership working and market engagement by enabling Commissioners to listen to provider perspectives, ask open and exploratory questions, and continue discussions that will help inform the co-design of future services. It is intended as a collaborative discussion rather than a formal consultation, recognising the vital role providers play in delivering sustainable, high-quality Homecare services. The local authority is particularly interested in engaging with micro-enterprises, cooperatives, and charities. Please note: • The event will not cover Supported Living. • Attendance does not indicate or imply any future commissioning decisions.
