Description
Lot 1 includes Care Act Advocacy for individuals who require support under the 2014 Care Act to participate with the local authority care and support process and/or Community Advocacy which is a wider non-statutory support to enable individuals to say what they want, secure their rights and represent their interests and obtain the services they need but who don't meet the criteria for a statutory form of advocacy Lot 2 comprises of comprises two broad aspects. Independent Mental Capacity Advocate (IMCA) as per the statutory obligation placed on Local Authorities, working in partnership with the National Health Service, under the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Paid Relevant Persons Representative which is a service for people deprived of their liberty subject to standard authorisations under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Lot 3 is the provision of an Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) service for individuals. Under the provisions of the Mental Health Act 1983, as amended, qualifying patients in England have access to help from an Independent Mental Health Advocate. IMHAs are a safeguard to help and support patients to understand and exercise their legal rights.
