CP1821-19 Legal Case Management System

DCC Legal Services supports and advises the whole Council, maintained schools, and Dartmoor and Exmoor National Park Authorities. However, it is not equipped with a legal case management system, something which is an industry standard in\r the vast majority of local authorities in-house legal teams and virtually all legal private practices across the country.\r A legal case management provides three core functions, which we are currently lacking:\r • a way of electronically storing and retrieving correspondence, court orders, reports, agreements, and other documents in a secure, uniform, comprehensive, and readily accessible medium across the Legal team;\r • a modern time-recording system that can quickly and accurately allocate time spent on individual matters, activities, and clients, and retrieve such data for both chargeable and non-chargeable matters; and • an electronic court bundling software, enabling easy and rapid bundle assembly.
