Description

Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services ("CWPS") is seeking a partner to implement a dedicated Pathology Transport Service which will provide sample and consumable transport, which may include chemicals. CWPS is a managed network of pathology laboratories hosted by University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. Laboratory services are provided by laboratories at: - University Hospital Coventry; - South Warwickshire Hospital, Warwick; - George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton; and - Queens Hospital, Burton (contracted until 2022). This procurement will provide a Service which will support pathology and phlebotomy services at 4 Trusts, which includes Seven (7) main sites (the main phlebotomy centres, the stabilisation sites and the sites of the laboratories), 9 CCGs and over 250 GP practices, covering a population of 1.6 million patients and 242 phlebotomy sites. The Service must provide for the safe transportation of: a) Patient samples; b) Blood and blood products; c) Reagents and chemicals; d) Consumables (including, but not limited to, blood collection tubes, sample collection vessels); and e) Staff (between Main Sites). Transport of staff will only be required on an ad hoc basis and will not be routine movement of large numbers of staff.
