Description

The project consists of various works to the MT Building, set within the wider context of Fort Cumberland. Although the MT building is not independantly listed and doesn't fall within the scheduling of Fort Cumberland, the external fabric of the MT building is subject to listed buiding consent as the building is in the curtiledge of the Fort. Fort Cumberland is a Scheduled Monument and a Grade II* listed building. A listed building application for the external works of this project has already been submitted to Portsmouth City Council planning office. The evaluation date is advised as the 17th January 2024. Works include: fire upgrading works including installation of fire dampers, firestopping, upgrading of fire doors; minor upgrades to electrical installation; alterations to the layout of the existing WC's; relocation of fume cupboard space; merging of two rooms into one, that will require an upgrade to the rooms air conditioning system; internal decoration and upgrading of finishes; internal repairs; partial re-roofing.
