Description
This procurement comprises landscape and maintenance works to carry out excavation within and adjacent to watercourses at two separate locations in Solihull, to form naturalistic meanders and re-profile banks, planting and reinstatement of disturbed areas. Elmdon Park and Kingshurt Brook. The Solihull Brooks Improvements will enable environmental improvements to naturalise existing watercourses in existing public open spaces including Elmdon Park and public open space at Chapelhouse Rd, Fordbridge and involves the reprofiling of banks, habitat creation and planting. It is also part funded by Greening the Grey/Wildlife Ways (part European Regional Development Fund, part DfT NPIF funding) with additional contribution from Environment Agency. The plans have been developed with Environment Agency and expected to be approved by EA permit late July. It forms part of Capital programme of works under Wildlife Ways and Small Habitats Grant.
