Description

NHS Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering Clinical Commissioning Groups, (BHR CCGs) may, in the future undertake a process to seek a provider to implement an Integrated Wound Care and Lymphoedema Service (IWCL). The aim is to provide an integrated service for all commissioned and non commissioned services for leg swelling, ulcers, wound and post op wound care, lymphoedema, tissue viability teams and district nursing lower limb services. The new service will provide a multi-disciplinary / specialist wound care assessment and management service in partnership with patients, their families and other providers of care to deliver evidence based patient focused interventions. BHR CCGs are proposing to commission an IWCL service with a view for the service to be in place by the fourth quarter of 2018. The Commissioners wish to consult with providers about their intended approach prior to commissioning the services and commencing a procurement exercise. The service is currently being provided in the health economy from various sources including GP Practices, Community Nursing, Acute Trust, Walk in Centres, Urgent Care Centres etc. This consultation will comprise Q&A's to gather feedback from providers on the draft specification and cost of the service, the feedback may be used by the Commissioners to shape the way forward. We would welcome a response from your organisation. As part of this Market Engagement exercise we are requesting bidders to complete a short questionnaire and submit it via the messaging system in the Pro-Contract portal (https://procontract.due-north.com/Login/) by 19 January 2018. Please note this is purely a market assessment exercise to gather facts on potential providers and assist the CCGs with testing their assumptions and proposed service requirements. The subsequent procurement, if undertaken, will be a separate process.
