The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals (NNUH) NHS Foundation Trust is the Sponsor for the TIPAL trial and will be a party to the contract under this tender. NNUH have delegated certain Sponsor activities including the provision of study supplies to UEA through NCTU including the procurement of domiciliary spirometers, smart phones or tablets and data platforms to collect spirometry data for the trial. The Treating people with Idiopathic Pulmonary fibrosis with the Addition of Lansoprazole (TIPAL) trial is a National Institute for Health Research Health Technology Assessment programme funded clinical trial. The full trial title is: the effectiveness and risks of treating people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis with the addition of lansoprazole (TIPAL): a randomised, placebo-controlled multi-centre clinical trial. The trial aims to recruit 298 patients across 30 sites in the UK with recruitment anticipated to commence from Autumn 2020 following revisions to the initial study design due to the impact of the covid-19 pandemic.
