Description
Hastings Borough Council, leading and in partnership with Eastbourne, Lewes, Rother, and Wealden Councils, have been successfully awarded the contract for the delivery of a new test and learn project funded by the Centre for Homelessness Impact, Accommodate and Connect. The project aims to remove the barriers that vulnerable people who are having to sleep rough face, when accessing accommodation in the area they are presenting in. As such, the project aims to support local authorities to deliver a range of immediate, short-term emergency or off-the-street (OTS) accommodation options that can be used to help those presenting as rough sleeping without local connection. They will benefit from access to wrap around support to explore a reconnection back to their original area of residence and source long-term accommodation to end their rough sleeping and/or homelessness. The project also aims to help support those eligible with local accommodation options where a reconnection is not attainable. Full details are included in the document set.
