Description

"NDI currently has 26 Side Detection Radars (SDR) that enable them to perform traffic count surveys across the County and surrounding area for external clients. The Traffic & Safety Team has commissioned a large data collection exercise (480 sites) that needs to be completed asap in traffic neutral periods, this is likely to be for the basis for their forward plan of surveys so will not be a one off. To accommodate this NDI will need to increase the number of SDR units they have by 15.\r The SDR's are automatic traffic counters that capture traffic flows, speed and class profiles at temporary locations. Funding has been issued by the DfT to LA's to update/add to their coverage of count sites to improve our understanding of local issues. Failure to deliver this will have a reputational impact to members and could hinder any future funding opportunities."
