Description
We are currently reviewing the in-house pensions administration service provided by GMCA. A project is currently being set up which will determine whether we continue with the in-house administration provision or alternatively outsource to another provider. At present, due to the recent changes to the Firefighter's Pension Scheme as a result of Age Discrimination remedy, it is unlikely than another provider will be in a position to take on new clients this year due to the amount of additional work involved in reconciliating their existing clients. The plan is to commence a project with the intention of either transferring the administration service to another provider by the end of January 2027 or tendering for a pensions administration system and keep the administration in-house. Therefore, we are requesting an exemption for 25/26 and probably 26/27 until either of the proposals have been completed.
