Description
The Authority wishes to obtain tenders for the following - The demolition of the following buildings. - Pavilion - Grosvenor House (part) including a section of the Bus Station canopy Contractors design elements to include the following - Making good the exposed end of Grosvenor House and Bus Station canopy The works require the effective co-ordination to allow the surrounding public thoroughfare, bus station and retail shops to remain in operation at all times and to avoid obstruction or delays to vehicles, pedestrians and other users of the surrounding area. The Authority is also asking the Suppliers to price an option to include the demolition of Bentink House that will be undertaken should budgets allow. The demolition of Bentink House will require careful planning allowing the operation of the car park to continue for as long as possible into the demolition so that the closure of the car park and the potential loss of income is kept to a minimum. Contractors design elements to include the following - Making good the exposed end of Bruton Way car park with vehicle and pedestrian restraints including the design and installation of a fire escape stairwell following the closure of the stairwell in Bentink House
