Description
The University of Nottingham is seeking to appoint a provider of Funeral Services for bodies bequeathed for the purpose of teaching of anatomy to student and trainee doctors. The School of Life Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Nottingham is responsible for the teaching of anatomy to our student and trainee Doctors. The School use bequeathed cadavers in the teaching of medicine and is a strong advocate of the principle that working with real human bodies provides the best teaching experience for our students. This tender invites expressions of interest in the main aspects of the service that we wish to purchase for the suitably dignified and reverential disposal of cadavers: Collection of bequeathed bodies and their delivery to the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC), collection, transportation and delivery of prosected body parts between QMC and the School of Medicine, Royal Derby Hospital and the provision of suitably prepared coffins, transportation from QMC to a place of rest and management of the associated arrangements.
