Description
ESAS was established in 2012 to support Government’s Green Deal policy as an advice line. It provides impartial, personalised information and advice to the public on energy efficiency, available funding and loans for improving the energy efficient condition of properties, Renewable Heating Incentive (RHI) and maintaining Affordable Warmth (AW) for the most vulnerable. There is also additional referrals and support in the form of signposting for businesses. ESAS is mainly a telephone line but also includes email and postal fulfilment. The service covers England and Wales. The policies it supports are still in place and there is no alternative arrangement for consumers to seek advice. It will go live on 1.4.2012, and the contract will be for an initial period of 3 years with an option to extend up to a further 2 years to a total of 5 years. The original contract was awarded for and an initial period of 3 years with an option to extend up to a further 2 years to a total of 5 years.
