Description
Newcastle under Lyme Borough Council operates a source separated kerbside collection service for dry recycling materials to all households. Materials collected for recycling consist of five streams:- Paper, Cardboard, Glass bottles & jars, Cans, Plastic Bottles. These same dry recycling materials are also collected from 15 bring sites, located across the borough. It is intended that the Councils Knutton Lane Depot will be used for Bulking, sorting and bailing materials collected from the recycling collection service. The new operation for bulking and bailing recyclable materials will take place indoors, utilising a current building some 21 metres x 42 metres as outlined in red on the attached drawing number ENG/DE/002. In an attempt to maximise efficiency for transport movements, and further improve quality, the Council wishes to procure the design, supply and installation of a sorting system and bailer within the Knutton Lane Depot.
