Description
In April 2015, Team Leidos secured a thirteen-year £6.7Bn contract with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to provide procurement and inventory management services in relation to a wide range of commodity items (as well as related storage and distribution services) historically provided in-house by the Logistic Commodities and Services Operating Centre. Team Leidos (comprising Leidos Europe Limited, Leidos Supply Limited and several partners- including TVS Supply Chain Solutions) is working with the MOD to transform the way in which these services are delivered, ensuring that ongoing requirements continue to be met whilst seeking to enhance and improve the UK’s defence supply chain capability whilst providing best value for money for the Department. A key part of this Logistics, Commodities and Services Transformation (“LCST”) contract is the procurement and inventory management of c70,000 commodity NATO Stock Number (NSNs). which are acquired through the regular conduct of public, advertised tenders overseen by Leidos Supply Limited (“LSL”). LSL now wants to draw to the attention of the market its intention to conduct a pilot procurement (“the Pilot”) for several lines of military clothing with the intention of establishing whether it is feasible to procure such items on a more “resilient” basis without compromising quality, price and delivery. The specific lines which we intend to procure through the Pilot are of Thermal Jackets & Trousers Multi Terrain Pattern. It is the aim of this Preliminary Market Engagement Notice (PMEN) to encourage companies, suppliers, manufacturers or distributors to make us aware of their interest in this opportunity and provide as much information as they are comfortable with, in order to assist us in determining the strategy for and approach to the Pilot. LSL wishes to generate interest, information and views from organisations to understand the current market innovation and gain useful market intelligence to shape the requirement. In order to request the PMEN documents (which will include a Request for Information- “RFI) and technical details (including extracts from the specification) relating to the requirement please contact: Name and Email address: Charlotte Beavan - charlotte.Beavan101@teamleidos.mod.uk and copy in to your e-mail Olivia Carroll -olivia.carroll@uk.leidos.com. In your email please make clear that you are interested in the opportunity and request the documents relating to the Supply of Thermal Jackets & Trousers Multi Terrain Pattern. The documents will then be sent to you and those which require completion should be returned to the same email addresses before the deadline. Responses are required as soon as possible in order to inform next steps but the PMEN will remain open until 26/01/2026.
