UK SPACE COMMAND - SPACE OPERATIONS AWARENESS COURSE (SOAC) UK Space Command will hold a two-and-a-half-day training course, aimed at providing personnel from MoD, HMG, Industry and Academia with a foundational understanding of Space Operations, in a joint collaborative environment. Areas of study include (but are not limited to) Space Domain Awareness (SDA), the Space Environment, the UK in Space and Space Support to Operations. COURSE AIMS: You will be able to: - Describe the characteristics of the Space Environment and Space Weather. - Identify Space Doctrine publications. - Identify the characteristics of Space Domain Awareness and its importance to Space Operations. - Identify the key components of Space Support to Operations. - Identify the key components of Space Service Support. - Describe current UK military Space capability and the UK civil Space sector. - Describe Space-based ISR and its utility across all warfighting domains. - Discuss the products that can be provided by Space-based capabilities. EVENT LOCATION: The Altitude facility, University of Lancashire, 135 Lytham Road, Preston, PR4 1AD. SECURITY: No security clearances are required for this course. COST: £740.00 (including VAT) per person. TRAVEL & SUBSISTENCE: The cost of the course excludes travel and accommodation. Lunch ONLY is provided. e.g. attendees will be required to make their own travel and hotel booking arrangements for the duration of the course. COURSE CAPACITY: Course capacity is limited and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis to Industry and Academia accordingly. You are welcome to submit multiple applications per company, if you wish. However, if the course is oversubscribed applications may be limited to one person per company, so please ensure nominations are stated in priority order if submitting multiple applications.
