Description
Forestry England is seeking market engagement for a peatland restoration framework across multiple sites (to be confirmed). The scope includes provision of all labour, plant, materials, and expertise to deliver restoration works. Including tree and scrub removal using a mechanical mulcher, hagg and gully reprofiling, hydrological restoration and re-wetting through the construction of water control structures, including peat dams, plastic piling dams, stone dams, timber dams and bunding and forest-to-bog work through ground smoothing, which may include stump flipping, stump grinding, furrow reprofiling, and cross-tracking. Some sites may require helicopter transport due to access constraints. Contractors will also be responsible for environmental safeguards, site protection, monitoring, and reporting.
