Framework Agreement for the supply of insurance services - SIMPLE TCI

Modification Notice Original description: Insurance services (excluding Brokerage services). The scope of this framework is for the provision of an insurance provider to deliver the Northern Housing Consortium's (NHC) "SIMPLE" brand of Tenant Contents Insurance to current and future members of the NHC via our appointed brokers Marsh Ltd. The primary objective of SIMPLE is to provide tenants who live in social accommodation access to insurance services that are affordable, easy to understand and appropriate to the tenants needs. The intention is that this is provided by one supplier through portfolio underwriting. Description of the modifications We believe the justification meets the criteria of Regulation 72.1(c), and as such we have modified the contract to extend by 12 months until April 2022. We believe this to be a proportional modification based on the fact that the insurance market works on a 12 month cycle. Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances: Covid-19 has seen that engagement required in order to successfully run a procurement at this time is not possible The insurance market requires stability which can not be offered at this time because of Covid-19. Covid 19 has created unprecedented losses through the UK and the rest of the world, with insurers reacting rapidly to close down unforeseen risks.
