Description
The Torquay Pavilion is an iconic building in the centre of Torquay Sea front. It was erected in 1912, it contained a foyer, lounges and a café. It was subsequently adapted in 1938, 1960's & 1980. These adaptions included use as a theatre, ice rink and a shopping arcade, along with the introduction of adding a new mezzanine level. The building has been left vacant for over 10 years and has fallen into serious disrepair, with its deterioration accelerating due to continued water ingress from a multitude of building defects. This project is for the "opening up works", that will inform the full nature, scope & financial resources required to bring the Pavilion building back into a condition that will allow it to be used by a future tenant. The buildings true condition is currently unknown, it is for this reason that a full programme of opening up works is required to further inform & scope a wider restoration project.
