Description
The proposed scheme represents a comprehensive modernization and refurbishment of the existing Market Hall. The project will deliver significant upgrades, ensuring the facility meets contemporary standards and provides a welcoming environment for traders and the community. Key features of the scheme include: • Installation of a new roof to enhance structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. • Redesign and reconfiguration of internal and external market stalls, incorporating a new layout that includes a performance stage and additional seating areas, creating a versatile space for events and community gatherings. • Demolition and reconstruction of the front elevation façade to transform the building's appearance, ensuring it reflects the modernized vision for the Market Hall. • Development of a new public market square area, designed as a focal point for community activities and public engagement. • Creation of a new internal bar area to attract a diverse audience and enhance the market's offering. • To support traders during the construction phase, a temporary market facility will be established within Rawtenstall's town square, adjacent to the bus station. This temporary arrangement will allow traders to continue their operations uninterrupted, maintaining the market's presence in the community throughout the refurbishment. This award was made following a competitive mini-competition under the Procurement Hub Construction Works DPS (Find a Tender reference: 2022/S 000-016049).
