Description
Background: The HE research programme seeks to improve our understanding of the broader costs of HE provision alongside a targeted examination of the effectiveness of the system of support for disabled students Aims and Objectives: The overarching aim of this project is to repeat the cost of study exercise carried out as part of the Augar Review of Post-18 Education and Funding with a view to updating and improving our evidence based and estimates of the costs of undergraduate provision in England. This research will again compare the costs of provision at different levels of undergraduate study, across providers, subjects, and regions. Requirement: This research will seek to build on the 2019 cost of study report, taking into account the lessons learned from the last costing exercise to improve the scope of the study, sector participation, methodological approach and data gathering process. The research will provide more up-to-date estimates of the costs of provision based on the latest available financial data [academic year 2022/23] in order to provide the robust evidence base Ministers would need to make decisions on HE fees & funding.
