Description

4 x new eddy covariance (EC) flux station including CPEC310 H2O/CO2 infrared gas analyser (IRGA) are required in Great Fen, which must be comparable with existing sites and data processing systems that are in use across the growing UKCEH and affiliated EC network. The Campbell Scientific Ltd. (CSL) instruments and parts are essential for enabling reliable collection of comparable long-term measurements. The CPEC310 systems and supporting environmental instrumentation provide the high-quality data required for UKCEH science. These systems are specifically designed to be more autonomous to minimise UKCEH staff time (e.g. field maintenance, field data capture) and T&S costs that are incurred with regular field visits. Procuring the complete system from CSL as a single supplier lowers overall costs and ensures full compatibility of instruments, whilst providing enhanced warranty and technical support benefits (e.g. logger programming). CSL are based within the UK, thereby reducing shipping costs, import duty and risk now that the UK has left the EU single market.
