Description

Queen Elizabeth's Girls' School in Barnet is an 11-18 fully comprehensive state school with approximately 1 200 students and 150 staff. We are proud to consistently be over-subscribed and a school of choice within the local community, with a strong reputation for educating women of the future. Our consistently high examination results place us in the top 1 % of all schools nationally, which is an incredible achievement for a fully comprehensive state school. We continue to build on our strong results year-on-year and we are an emerging centre of excellence for a number of areas of our practice, having gained SSAT and DFE recognition in recent months. The successful supplier will be required to provide cleaning services at Queen Elizabeth's Girls' School. Tender information: The tender project is seeking to appoint a Supplier whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of cleaning services within the school's facilities. The high quality service levels proposed, should maintain excellent standards throughout, resulting in a pleasant environment for both the pupils and staff. The basis and rationale that the client requires the successful supplier to operate to at all times, is being able to provide a school that is fit for purpose and that the supplier is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the tender specification. The contract being tendered is for three years in duration from 1.8.2019 until 31.7.2022 with the option to extend upon agreement with the client for a further 2-year period. The contract will be fixed price in nature, with the Supplier invoicing the client for one-twelfth of the annual cost on a monthly basis. It should be noted that the successful Supplier will be expected to bring to the contract: innovation; new equipment; and cleaning methods with BICSc standards being achieved, as a minimum, thus ensuring that the highest levels of cleanliness are maintained in all areas at all times and also ensuring that the productivity of the cleaning operatives is enhanced moving forward into the new contract term. Efficient and effective supervision and management of this contract is paramount. Current cleaning arrangements: At present the following staffing structure is in place: - 1 x non-working cleaning supervisor a.m. and p.m. shift 6 hours per day ~ 47.2 weeks + annual leave = 52 weeks per annum, - 1 x Team Leader 2 hours per day p.m. (term time and periodics), - 19 cleaning operatives 9 x a.m. 10 x p.m. (term time and periodics), - 1 x Day Janitor 4 hrs 10:00 a.m-2:00 p.m (term time only), - 1 x Day Janitor 6 hrs 11:30 a.m-5:30 p.m. (term time only). The current contractor is Birkin Cleaning Services. No incumbent members of cleaning staff are members of the LGPS. Further information is provided in the SQ Documentation.
