Description
Hosting, Maintenance and Support of Culture Collections website for next 12 months. The Culture Collections, operated by Public Health England (PHE), provide authenticated cell cultures and microorganisms for use in a vast array of activities that contribute to improvements in human health. Scientists across the world use PHE Culture Collection materials to determine the effects of drugs, radiation, viruses, chemical and biological weapons, pesticides and household chemicals on human cells. Culture Collection cells and microorganisms are also used worldwide as controls for diagnostic and antimicrobial susceptibility tests and for developing vaccines, anti-cancer drugs and treatments for metabolic diseases such as diabetes. The website presents over 30,000 product listings in addition to services, scientific data and technical support. The majority of orders received by the Culture Collections rely on the website; customers refer to the extensive catalogue listings to select products/services and to inform their decision to purchase. The website has e-commerce functionality. It also integrates with PHE – Finance and Resource Management system (FaRM) for stock information and order submission thereby enabling customers to submit their credit card and/or credit account orders online.
