Description
Cheshire East Council, in collaboration with Cheshire West and Chester Council, Warrington Borough Council and Halton Borough Council, has secured funding from the Warm Homes Fund launched by Affordable Warmth Solutions (AWS). Our successful proposal is to deliver an Affordable Warmth Advice Service across Cheshire, to support residents who are vulnerable to fuel poverty to improve the affordability of heating their home. As part of a separate but complementary project, the Councils have also secured funding from the Warm Homes Fund to install first time gas central heating systems to fuel poor households. The Affordable Warmth Advice Service is targeted at the most vulnerable private sector residents at risk of fuel poverty and at risk of poor health and wellbeing due to low income, cold homes and lack of access to help, support and services. The emphasis of the project is on providing face to face information, tailored advice and support to vulnerable households about all aspects of meeting their energy needs more effectively through community events and home visits. Cheshire East Council is the lead bidder and accountable body for the funded project, and is acting on behalf of its partners in undertaking this procurement
