Description
The proposed NPIF Bransty Row Highway Improvement scheme consists of introducing a new traffic signal-controlled junction at North Shore Road to help cope with future development associated traffic demand, along with the creation and rationalisation of new and improved public transport infrastructure as well as; improvements to pedestrian and cycling safety by reducing traffic speeds and providing upgraded footpaths and crossings. The area of the works is from New Road at the scheme's eastern extents to Tangier Street / Duke Street junction at its western extent, with improvements to Bransty Row's junctions with the Railway Access Road; North Shore Road and George Street. The works along Tangier Street mainly take the form of restoring existing public realm (footways and street furniture). The works principally comprise of high-quality flagged footways; resurfaced carriageways; new traffic signals and improved traffic signs, street lighting and road markings.
