Description
Contract Award Notice published for reasons of transparency only. The Ministry of Defence has awarded a Single Source Qualifying Defence Contract to Thales UK Ltd for Maritime Communications Capability Support (MCCS). The Contract will provide continued in-service support (including maintenance, obsolescence management and obsolescence rectification) of internal and external communications system and equipment fitted to in-service Royal Navy (RN) Legacy, Type 45 and QEC Integrated Communications Systems (ICS), KRS and V/UHF Communication (VCR) systems. The contract will incorporate additional non-core tasking, and a number of additional options to allow for obsolescence rectification of additional platforms and support to the Type 31 (T31) when brought into service. The contract was exempt from Defence Security Public Contracting Regulations (DSPCR) 2011, under Regulation 7(1)(a) Disclosure of Information in conjunction with Regulation 6(3A)(a) Security of information for reasons connected with the protection of essential security interests.
