Description

Derbyshire County Council is seeking to commission a provider (or consortium) to deliver accredited Level 2 and/or Level 3 Youth Work qualifications as part of the Local Youth Transformation Programme (LYTP). This contract is for the delivery of high-quality, nationally recognised youth work training to a minimum of 100 staff and volunteers across Derbyshire, with the potential to support up to 200 participants, subject to capacity and uptake. The LYTP is funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to address gaps in youth service provision, workforce development, and statutory compliance under Section 507B of the Education Act 1996. The programme responds to findings from the 2025 NYA and Street Games review, which identified the need for a coordinated, high-quality youth workforce and improved access to accredited training for both local authority and voluntary/community sector (VCS) staff. This is a contract opportunity published under the Light Touch Regime and shall commission services up to the maximum value of £300,000 based (on 200 learners enrolling), with the majority of funding to be spent by 31 March 2026 and the remainder by 31 August 2026. Please note: the majority of learners are required to be enrolled on their course by the 31 March 2026.
