Description

A topographical and underground utilities survey framework is required to support with optioneering, outline and detailed design phases to be completed by the Utilities design teams and consultants. The Suppliers will be able to undertake all types of investigations and support work, including but not limited to: · Land surveying, including drone. · Laser scanning and revit modelling. · Utility mapping to PAS128:2014 standard. Land surveying As part of the Land surveying requirements, there are 3 different types of surveys specified which include; • Type A Surveys which are for those on sites such as treatment works where multiple critical structures exist. • Type B Surveys which are for more generic topographical surveys. • Type C Surveys which are for long linear surveys such as longer pipeline routes. Laser scanning As part of the Terrestrial Laser Scanning requirements, devices will employ a laser to automatically measure three dimensional coordinates on the surface of an object. The collection of these XYZ co-ordinates will be in a common coordinate system that portrays to the viewer an understanding of the spatial distribution of a subject or a site. Utility mapping The Utility mapping requirements will be based on PAS128:2014. PAS128:2014 take a hierarchical approach to the survey types used in recognition that different clients at different stages of an asset life cycle will require different levels of detail. PAS128:2014 defines four types of survey: • Desktop utility records search (survey type D) • Site reconnaissance (survey type C) • Detection (survey type B)
