RSSB seeks to procure research to address the following research objectives: •Improve the rail industry’s understanding of how the safety risk of a LIB train compares to the safety risk of a combustion engine train. •Enable the rail industry to model changes in the risk profiles associated with the phased introduction of LIB trains to the rail network to replace diesel-only trains.
