Description

On 6th January 2024, Defra announced that the Flood Recovery Framework (FRF) would be activated for local authorities significantly impacted by Storm Henk and this included Gloucestershire. Therefore, any property or business that was flooded or significantly impacted due to flooding by storm Henk between 2nd and 12th January 2024 is eligible for grants under the Flood Recovery Framework. Gloucestershire County Council as the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) are administering the Property Flood Resilience (PFR) repair grant scheme to assist home and business owners to improve the flood resilience of their individual properties. The outcome from this funding should be that if flooding were to reoccur, damage levels would be considerably lower, and property owners and businesses could return to their properties much more quickly. A property survey is required as part of the scheme to identify potential ingress points, and the best PFR measures to prevent or limit future flood damage. Nb: Whilst a survey may recommend both resistance and recoverability measures, they are not required for claims for recoverability measures only. Surveys must be carried out by a suitably qualified independent surveyor. Gloucestershire County Council would like to offer property owners the opportunity to commission a property survey through a contractor appointed by GCC, and this is the tender opportunity relating to that contract. It could potentially include up to approximately 150 properties requiring an initial property level survey identifying potential ingress points and making recommendations for suitable PFR measures, followed by a post installation survey.
